4:45 p.m. It’s justified to look at this photograph and question Inklings’ demographics by covering a football game at Bunnell High School in Stratford, right? Wrong. Since the CIAC Football State Championship Semifinal was played at the neutral Stratford field, the higher-seeded Staples Wreckers were considered the home team, “Bunnell,” on the scoreboard. The Wreckers, down 14-0 in the 1st Quarter, bounced back and scored 44 points to eliminate the Newtown Nighthawks and move on to the State Championship against #1 seeded Xavier. That match will be broadcasted live on MSG Varsity at the University of Connecticut’s Rentschler Field sometime next week.
