Henry Watson ’25, Web Opinions Editor

After school, Henry Watson ’25 doesn’t take a break. Instead, he focuses on investing. 

“I enjoy investing because I get to make predictions,” Watson said. 

Watson makes many of his predictions with the help of reading the news every day. 

“It’s a routine for me,” Watson said. “I read a couple of news sites so that I can stay informed.”

This constant attention to financial news ignited his interest towards journalism. 

“I like writing any story related to the news because I enjoy learning about it,” Watson said. “I feel my interest in journalism has made me a stronger writer.”

The first 2024 presidential debate was not really the first one, as the two party’s presumptive nominees, then Joe Biden and Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump, engaged in a debate on June 27, 2024. Biden withdrew from the race less than one month later on July 21 after a disastrous debate performance that prompted concerns over his cognitive abilities.

In the previous 2021 election cycle, the Republican candidates for the BOE captured 42.77%. This year, they achieved 18.81% of the vote.

In 2021, Tucker Carlson's $20 million per year contract was renewed, amplifying the idea that the long-time host’s history of controversies had not dissuaded Fox Corp.
