From a Democrat’s standpoint, Newt Gingrich is the best thing that could happen to the Republican Party.
For twenty years, Gingrich was a member of the House of Representatives, giving him necessary experience with many top issues that even President Barack Obama did not have prior to becoming president.
However, not only was he sanctioned for ethics violations and forced to resign from his position as Speaker of the House, on a personal level Gingrich is an admitted adulterer and deserted his family. This cruel and callous behavior is hypocritical coming from someone advocating a return to family values.
Gingrich has proven his untrustworthiness through the several wives that he has cheated on. How can he prove that he is going to be a trustworthy political candidate?
In addition, his association with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is questionable at best and possibly downright unethical.
Then again, Obama has not created enough jobs during his term. The only positive about Gingrich’s time with Fannie and Freddie is that he knows how to create jobs as a result of his work in the corporate world.
But Gingrich’s inflammatory opinions and remarks will ultimately ignite voters against him. His recent remark about firing janitors and replacing them with students to clean schools is only one example of Gingrich’s poorly thought-out and blatantly irrational ideas.
Gingrich seeks media attention and outshines all other Republican candidates but will lose in a landslide to Obama in the November election.
