I just turned 16 a few months ago. However, from the looks of my closet I am going to be 21 forever…
I have an obsession. Forever 21 is constantly on my mind.
I used to have to check the website every day. If I didn’t check it, I would get anxious because I was aware that new clothing had been added yet I hadn’t seen it yet.
It has now gotten to the point that Forever 21 is on my Self-Control block-list. I am no longer going to let it suck me in and spit me back out at 10 o’clock when I realize how much homework I have left to do.
For those of you who don’t know what Forever 21 is, some un-experienced Forev (classic nickname) shoppers tend to classify it as a cheap teenage clothing store.
When they call it cheap they are talking about both the cost and quality of the clothing. Forever 21 and quality are two words that will never be put in the same sentence. Shirts tear, zippers break and buttons pop. After experiences like those, I hate Forev.
However, almost everything in the store is under 20 dollars. So, can you really complain about a shirt getting a hole if it was that inexpensive? 20 dollars would probably buy you the sleeve of a shirt at LF.
The reason that I love Forev the most is because it is cheaper than any other teenage store around. You can spend 100 dollars and still walk out with more than one item. Your money goes a long way at Forever 21.
Erica Stein ’13, a frequent Forever 21 shopper, is very grateful for the low prices. “I think people should give more credit to Forever 21 because they carry all the hottest styles, for decent quality and for extremely reasonable prices, “ Stein said.
Nonetheless, there are still numerous Forever 21 haters out there. I do agree that the store is disorganized and there is very little logic behind where the clothing is placed. The new arrivals are mixed in with the same clothes that have been sitting on a table since last December.
Many people also tend to think that the clothes are “tacky” or “cheap” or “trashy.” That’s just because they aren’t looking hard enough. I get compliments on my clothes all of the time and just about every article of clothing that I own is from Forever 21.
I will continue going to Forever 21 on a monthly basis. People will probably still ask me where my clothes are from even though it is essentially a known fact that Forever 21 controls my wardrobe.
People can hate on Forever 21 all they want. Just know that my shirt costs a quarter of the price that yours probably does…
