Westport’s annual Restaurant Week will begin and run from Sunday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Oct 14.
Twenty-four restaurants in Westport are participating in the two-week event, which “features special fixed price lunch, brunch and dinner menus,” according to the Connecticut Restaurant Week.
Spotted Horse Tavern, Tarry Lodge and The Pearl are just a few of the restaurants that will be taking part in the event.
“The Pearl is one of my favorite restaurants in Westport,” Lucas Basich ’21 said, “so I will definitely be going there at some point during Restaurant week to check out what they have on their menu.”
The event is presented by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce (WWCC). “We put it together, we organize it, we get the sponsors for it and we get all the restaurants to post their menus on our website,” Matthew Mandell, the WWCC’s executive director, said. “Then we promote it by radio, newspapers, and online.”
The goal of Westport’s Restaurant Week is to bring business to local restaurants in Westport, while simultaneously giving the community an event to take part in. It encourages an appreciation for what restaurants in Westport have to offer.
“The goal is for a restaurant to show their [food],” Mandell added, emphasizing that restaurants give fixed price points, with the goal that people will come to try their food and in the future become regular customers.
