A few minutes after the excited cheers died down in the lobby and the year’s homework assignment sheets fluttered to the ground, there was an unusual scene at the front of school: a police car parked in front of a crowded bus.
According to Principal John Dodig, a student driver inadvertently tapped the back of bus 19 and fled the scene. A K9 car from the Westport Police Department later arrived, and administrators and students could be seen trying to figure out the incident.
“The student and the police have been in touch since,” Dodig said.
There were reportedly no injuries, and the bus left campus at approximately 1:12 p.m., 45 minutes after the final bell of the school year rang.
