At approximately 10:00 p.m, Saugatuck Congregational Church, located at 245 Post Road East, was engulfed in flames.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, according to a Westport police officer who requested to not be identified.
As of 11 p.m., six fire trucks were on the scene, working to extinguish the fire. The entire left side of the church was up in flames at the fire’s peak, but now only small pockets of flames remain.
