“The Big Dance 2015” enters the Sweet 16
It hasn’t even been a week and many Staples students’ March Madness brackets have already been busted. However, a select few remain, unscathed, at the top of “The Big Dance 2015” leaderboard.
Peter Richards ’15 is tied for fourth place in the 160 student competition. Richards said he barely did any research before picking his hugely successful bracket. While he’s gotten off to a quick start, Richards’ prediction of Villanova taking the title won’t end well for him, as ‘Nova bowed out of the tournament with a loss to the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the round of 32.
He calls his bracket, currently in the 97th percentile, “trash.”
Jack Dulsky ’15 owns a bracket in the 99th percentile, but he strayed from the norm with his pick to win the championship. “I just don’t think Kentucky can pull off the 40-0 season with their lack of experience,” Dulsky said.
While not a huge fan of any particular team, Dulsky chose the Wisconsin Badgers to triumph.
Richards admitted to not going through an intensive research process, but Dulsky focused on teams that were particularly hot down the stretch in filling out his bracket.
Aaron Linker ’15, the overall leader, and Shane Rabacs ’18, currently in second place, are certain that their brackets will continue to be successful.
Linker said, “I am confident with my bracket and my chances to win it all.”
Above all, the freshman Rabacs has some bold words for the Staples community. “Just look at my bracket. It will be 100% right,” he stated.
