Looking to improve on their 6–5 2008 season, the varsity football team hopes to make it to the playoffs this year. “This group has waited a long time to become seniors and we are excited to see if they can bring us back to the championship level,” said coach Marce Petroccio.
The team, led by captains Brendan Rankowitz ’10, Brandon Pacilio ’10, Jake Santora ’10, Devin Graber ’10, has been preparing for the season since August 24. “The chemistry is great and we are stronger across the board. We are better prepared mentally not only as players but as coaches,” Petroccio said. The team faces a challenging schedule against Greenwich, Trumbull and Ridgefield who are their toughest rivals in the FCIAC conference.
