The Staples Boys Varsity Soccer team improved to 4-0 as they defeated Brien McMahon 1-0 at Home last Thursday in the still premature season. Led by coach Dan Woog, Staples would not be denied in this back-and-forth battle between two powerhouses. Forward Greg Gudis ‘11, who was credited with the only goal of the game, admitted that “it was not the prettiest goal.” Nevertheless it would stand as the deciding factor in this hard fought FCIAC showdown. Staples had lost to Brien McMahon last year, in Norwalk, 2-0 making this win all the sweeter.
