The 2017 Oscars, will be featuring films that have contrasting differences. Many different pictures as well as actors, directors and producers will be looking forward to taking home an Academy Award.
Best Picture is by far the most essential award for a feature film. The award represents the best directing, acting, music composing, writing, editing and other efforts put forth into a film production. In my opinion, the movie “Manchester by the Sea” has the best chance to win Best Picture.
Although “Manchester by the Sea” has received considerable reviews, it could see tough competition from movies such as “La La Land.” “La La Land” is up for a record tying 14 Academy Awards including Best Actor and Actress nominees Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
“Manchester by the Sea” stars Casey Affleck who won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama. I believe that he has the best chance to win this award. Affleck will have tough competition against Ryan Gosling who won Best Actor in a comedy or musical at the Golden Globes.
As for the Best Actress award, I think it will be a close competition between Emma Stone and Isabelle Huppert who stars in “Elle.” Huppert received Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama at the Golden Globes. As for Stone, she has received a great reception for her role and could easily take this award home.
Mahershala Ali I believe is the best bet to win Best Supporting Actor. Ali has received substantial positive reviews from his performance in “Moonlight.” Ali won Best Supporting actor at the SAG Awards as well as being nominated for one at the Golden Globes.
Viola Davis stars in the movie “Fences” and may have the best chance to win Best Actress in a Supporting Role. After winning the Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes, I believe that she will go on to win at the Oscars as well.
“La La Land” will most likely win the award for Best Directing. Damien Chazelle directed a previous Best Picture nominee in 2014, “Spotlight.” This year, Chazelle will look to win an Oscar award with his Golden Globe.
The award for an Animated Feature Film will be between the two Disney movies. Both “Moana” and “Zootopia” will make it a close race with “Zootopia” most likely winning the award. After winning the award at the Golden Globes, I believe it it will do the same at this year’s Oscars awards.
Many veteran and new celebrities will be looking forward to winning an Oscar this February 26. It will be a tough competition for the films, actors, actresses, and all those that will be competing for an Academy Award.
