On Thursday May 21, Main Street bustled with Westporters of all ages, was filled with the sounds of live music, aromas of fresh-out-of-the oven garlic knots, and art of all shapes and sizes at the opening night street party for Art About Town.
During this month long street art gallery, hosted by the Downtown Merchants Association, local artists feature their original artwork in restaurant and shop windows. Opening ceremonies included a performance from a group of young YMCA dancers, magic shows and food vendors. The artwork itself ranged from on-the-spot self portraiting to graphite sketches and even an interactive paint-with-your-feet exhibit.
