“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” directed by Jake Kasdan is playing in movie theatres around Westport right now, and is the funniest movie to recently come out.
The original “Jumanji” movie, released in 1995, received a rating of 50 percent on Rotten Tomatoes with a 62 percent audience score, while the re-make was given a 77 percent critic score and a 90 percent audience score. Usually the first movie is always better than the sequel, but “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” has topped the original.
This film focuses on four high school kids who discover an old video game console and are taken into the game’s jungle setting, becoming the adult avatars they selected. When in the game, they realize you don’t just have to play Jumanji, you must survive it; if they can accomplish this, then they will be able to return to the real world. If not, they’re stuck in the game forever.
In this film, Kevin Hart plays Moose Finbar, a zoologist and weapons valet for Dwayne Johnson’s character, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, whose mission is to save the jungle of Jumanji. These two actors provide the perfect blend of comedy and action while they are excellently complemented by the likes of Jack Black, Madison Iseman, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas.
Director Jake Kasdan was able to string together a superb cast for this film who filled the movie with hysterical scenes and thrilling action.
I was able to purchase my ticket at the theatre in Bridgeport for a mere $11. Despite that “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” is a popular film, the process of purchasing tickets was simple and stress free.
Overall, if you’re looking for a fun activity to do over the weekend or on any given night, you must head down to the local theatre and see Jake Kasdan’s newest comedy. Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will have no problem keeping you on the edge of your seat filled with laughter. Not to mention, but “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” brought in five-hundred million dollars to the worldwide box office topping the newly released movies of “Insidious 4” and “The Last Jedi”. For only $11, there is no reason to not see this comical masterpiece.
