Fall has finally arrived. The temperature is dropping, pumpkins are ready to harvest and as the leaves change, so does the fashion. So why not embrace the fall trends for all they have to offer?
One of the greatest trends of fall are bomber jackets. They have been worn by everyone from Gigi Hadid to Kanye West. “Bomber jackets are really in. I love bomber jackets,” Paige O’Brien ’18 said. They are a great addition to any outfit and come in a range of colors perfect for fall.
And, of course, with fall comes sweaters. They’re great for the cold, and are always super soft. Let’s face it, there is nothing more comfortable than a large sweater. Sweaters are also perfect for everyone since they come in many different styles, such as oversized and cropped, which can be found in hot colors this season, such as maroon. “I love sweaters. Half of my closet is sweaters. They’re so cozy,” Chloe Delgado ’20 said.
Fall is also the time to put away shorts and pull out the jeans. Although always trendy, this year’s fall jeans are better than ever. They can be worn in classic denim or olive green and maroon, two fall color staples. “I love all different kinds of cool jeans.” Fashion designer, Emerson Kobak ’18 said. There are so many cool baggy, mom, flare jeans out right now in many different colors.”
Another favorable trend this fall are oversized sweatshirts. They are especially great on lazy days. “I wear an oversized sweatshirt nearly everyday and I think it’s very fashionable,” Caelan Chevrier ’20 said. They are especially popular this year as people have started wearing them as dresses with tights or leggings.
Lastly, plaid skirts are one of this year’s hottest fall trends. They can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and look good with a variety of tops and jackets as well as tights, boots, and sneakers. This year they can be found in wool, and they have quickly become a fashion favorite for street style.
Not to mention this year’s trendy fall color: red. “I love the color red. It has always been a favorite of mine and it is very in right now.” Kobak said. It’s fun, and any of the items mentioned above would look perfect in it.
So along with getting a fix of cinnamon and cider this fall, and admiring the newly colored leaves, shopping is definitely a necessity for fall.
