Award shows are a time when Celebrities get to showcase their style. Some celebrities know how to dress. They know what’s flattering and what colors best compliment their skin tone and hair. However, there are other celebrities who don’t know what to do with the fashion freedom that comes with award season.
Who wore it:
Julianne Moore’s Raf Simons for Christian Dior long sleeve-full skirted gown was a home run. The mustard color was unexpected for a redhead but ended up creating contrast against her red locks. The cut of this dress was perfect for her. It was fitted from the top to the waist, and then belled out into a full length skirt. In addition to nailing it on the red carpet, Moore took home her first Emmy in the category of Outstanding Actress.
Tina Fey rocked the red carpet in her plum Vivienne Westwood gown. Picking one of the seasons hottest colors, Fey looked elegant and feminine in this silhouette. The ornate embellishment on the neckline added the perfect glamourous touch to her dress. Fey’s up-do complemented
the entire ensemble.
If we already didn’t know that Heidi Klum was a supermodel we sure do now. Klum opted for a sea-foam gown by Parisian designer Alexandre Vauthier. She paired the dress with beautiful Lorraine Schwartz jewels which coordinated perfectly with the dress . Overall, I thought Klum had the winning look of the night.
Whose dress wore them:
Claire Danes is a talented actress, but Danes didn’t do herself a favor by picking this mustard oversized Lanvin dress. She is expecting a baby, but the excess fabric only made the dress look ill fitted. Danes was scoreless in style but her show, Homeland did win at the Emmys.
For this year’s Emmys, Haden Panettiere opted for a toga-inspired Marchesa gown. The main issue with this look was the excess draping. The draping created an unflattering and almost overwhelming look. With a few tweaks, her teal ensemble could have been understated and elegant.
Lea Dunham wins the worst dressed award. The pattern of the Prada dress was beautiful, but not at all the right silhouette for Dunham. The dress looked bulky and when you add in the high-waist, it was the wrong kind of show stopper.
