“The Muppets” is not “just another Muppets movie”; instead, it is a statement that the franchise is not dead and a healthy reminder to everyone that when done well, the Muppets can appeal to audiences across many demographics.
To help write the movie, Disney got well-known Muppet fan Jason Segel to help and act. Segel plays Gary, an overgrown child who lives with his muppet brother (and best friend) Walter, who is obsessed with the Muppets TV show.
Gary decides to take his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) to Los Angeles and invites Walter as well to both meet the muppets and be the most charming third wheel in movie history.
When they get to LA, though, Walter realizes that the franchise of the Muppets is gone and maniacally-laughing evil corporate managers are plotting to tear down the Muppets’ theater unless the they somehow raise ten million dollars by the time the land contract expires.
Walter does what he can and takes the news to his idol, Kermit who decides to raise the money by getting the Muppet gang back together for one last show.
The movie for “The Muppets” goes smoothly as it entertains the audience using humor and a score of over a dozen songs that are clever and entertaining.
“The Muppets” uses an array of genres for musical scores ranging from over the top cheesy dance numbers to rap songs, even managing to fit in Cee Lo Green’s “F*** You” as performed by chickens. They are able to go above and beyond by not settling for the standard musical but cover many genres in an unpredictable way that makes the music add to the movie.
After the age of ten, humor and a PG movie mix like oil and vinegar. However, using standard goofy humor, great cameos with an array of celebrities, and satirical social commentary “The Muppets” is able to cross that boundary. The movie makes the humor enjoyable for everyone not settling for letting only the eight year-olds laugh while others are bored out of their minds.
“The Muppets” is about how Gary and Walter help resurrect the Muppets franchise from the graveyard. It is the real life version of what they did, as this movie was able to bring back a franchise that was left for dead after a number of not so great movies. This movie is truly for anyone who wants an entertaining flick to watch with family over the holidays.

The Muppets was probably my favorite comedy that I’ve seen in a Long long long time! I couldn’t believe that I loved it so much. I was expecting just to go because it’d be a good chance to go to a movie with family, but seriously, my wife and I went to it again the next day. SO GOOD!
Jason Segal did awesome and all the muppets were of course awesome.
