The Westport Youth Film Festival (WYFF) recently selected 50 films from an initial collection of over 200 entries to be shown at its 2011 spring festival on May 14 at the Fairfield Community Theatre.
Of the selected films, two were created by Staples students Matt Lindahl ’11 and Alanna Morton ’11. Lindahl’s film called Light, follows the life of a young depressed boy through his hometown, while Morton’s film The End of You Too, promotes an eco-friendly lifestyle.
Industry professionals will conduct the second round of judging for the festival. Tom Calderone, the President of VH1, Oscar-nominated Documentarian Marshall Currey, Emmy-nominated Filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, Producer Missy Papageorge, Director of Production at Weston Woods Studios Paul Gagne, Eyewitness News NYC’s Sandy Kenyon, and Film Critic Susan Granger will be the judges.
